Compensatory. That's a nice way of saying Special Ed. These kids don't even look at me as I walk in. There are 12 of them. I feel embarassed for them. Do they think I'm secretly laughing at them? Do their friends know they're in a Special Ed class? Do thay have friends? Some of them must. They are wearing Abercrombie polos and skirts from Charlotte Rousse. They have friends.     The boy in the corner with the ripped up jeans has a duffel bag and helmet with him. He plays football. He can't spell, but he can make a touchdown. He asks to borrow a pencil. I give him one. I don't expect to get it back.    &#
